New Batteries, slower speed
I have a 2005 club Car Precedent and just recently replaced the batteries. It is programmed with a speed code 4 and was topping out at 19 MPH. I have run it 5-6 times with the new batteries and can only get to 15 MPH. Batteries have been through 5-6 charging cycles. I am assuming that the batteries need to get broken in, but am curious if anyone has had this same issue. Thanks!

You might have to let your charger know what batteries you have now.

You can’t program that charger.
Speed code was probably erased when the batteries were disconnected. The controller will probably have to be re-programmed to get it back. |

That is a logic controller and unless you modified the controller, your SP4 is still presently programmed. The larger the battery (amp-hours) the longer to fully break them in. |

The old batteries could have been the issue. If the old batteries had a weak or dead cell, they could have been causing the higher speed (which I know you want back). Lower voltage from your batteries causes higher amp draw from your motor & controller to compensate. It feels good & fast, but the added heat can destroy cables, controllers, and motors.....ALSO, make sure the jumpers between your batteries didn't get changed to a smaller gauge. That will slow you down.

I too am curious what the pack voltage is when at rest and when the cart is at full speed.
