Default Precedent randomly dies

2011 Precedent 48v, 6” lift, 23” tires. Bought the cart with a bad motor so I put a PQ Bandit on it left it bone stock. Riding about 40% throttle for anymore than 15 minutes it would slowly die and barely move again. Batteries all reas good but decided to changed them all anyways. Still same problem. Went with an Alltrax 500a controller, big solenoid and 2ga cables from Carts Unlimited. Still same problem. Alltrax data posted below when it is in its “dead” mode.

Let me try to upload differently. Its giving me a low battery fault when hitting the throttle. Battery voltshe only drops to 39v, but motor voltage wont go past 13v at full throttle.

Its not a battery issue. I had the same problem before changing the batteries.

Go to your controller settings screen in the tool kit and ensure the settings are entered correctly. On the throttle settings screen ensure the map is correct for your motor. If everything is set correctly and you are still having the problem, call Alltrax Customer Support at 541-476-3565 so they can review your information.

Just so we know, what is the type batteries and the amp-hours you are using?

If you have not read this attachment yet, it is a good insight to how the controller is set up and what each setting does.

It may be a motor problem. When I bought the Bandit for my 2010 Precedent Excel, Robbie @ PQ told me not to run large diameter tires. Too many RPMs/overheating???? Keep us posted.

Battery voltage dropping to 39v is a problem. That sounds like Your motor is pulling too many amps. How many cycles have the new batteries been through?

Did you try taking the 23s off and put stock wheels back on it and see if the problem continues?

I tested each battery and this is what I got:

8.32
8.34
8.08
8.20
8.23
8.21

49.3

Just put brand new FSIP A3 speed motor in from scotty today and same thing. Battery voltage is 38.4v.

None of those batteries were at full charge. Not even close, 8.49v per battery and 50.93 on the pack.

If you read the information I supplied to you on batteries, you know you have got to break them in to get the full potential out of them and they get stronger and stronger as you go. No matter what, you have to start out with a fully charged pack.
