Default New Batteries Now Headlights don’t Work

First time poster.. got a 1998 CC DS. Factory wired lights and upgraded to LED. Worked with old batteries. Installed new batteries and now only tail lights and brake lights work. Checked all connections and looks like I am getting 13 V to the lights. Thought maybe burned out the LED, but plugged in halogen which I can see are fine( and worked before I upgraded to LED), but they wouldn’t work either... could all 4 of my lights that used to work be burned out just from installing new batteries? TIA for the help.

Power, or ground. You’re missing one of the two.
Check voltage on the pins at the light socket with the light switch On.
If you have voltage on BOTH sides, no ground.
If you have No voltage on either pin, no power.

Thanks and I will check. Can that be true since the trial lights work fine? I appreciate the response.

Update... ground is good but one of the 2 power wires is not getting voltage. I unplugged every fuse under seat and by motor with brake lights on and they never turned off. I can’t imagine CC installing factory lights without a fuse. Anyone know if the headlamps are on a separate fuse and where it would be located on a 1998 DS? I feel like I have exhausted the search and need help.

On that model accessory fuses were usually just in front of the batteries underneath a slender black plastic cover. It was fed from your 16vto12v converter. Those could be aftermarket lights too. They usually look like OEM.

If a different voltage reduces has been installed, there may be a fuse panel by it.

OMG. I have been thinking that was a voltage reducer the whole time. Just took the cover off and viola! Fuses. Thank you so much for the replies. I appreciate you all.

Are the lights wired seperate? Or is one light powered from the other?

Also, a lot of aftermarket LED's have a black wire for positive, and they only work one way.

The reducer is a long rectangular aluminum device mounted on the Drivers side inside frame rail. Had a long black heavy gauge wire coming off of it.

If they are aftermarket, look up under the front cowl for a separate fuse panel. That is where I mount them when running after market lights. You will have to lay on your back and look up above the steering gear box.
