hypothetical question
I have no first hand knowledge how long it would take a set of well charged batteries to 'get low' from just sitting for a period of time.
This is my question ...... after riding the cart, it is plugged up and starts charging. You leave, not knowing you will not be back around the cart for a while. At whatever point it takes for the batteries to get low (weeks, months, whatever), will the charger kick back on automatically, or will someone have to be there to unplug/replug it back in? |

Re: hypothetical question
The key to answering your question is. What charger do you have?. And do you have an OBC. And I guess you are talking about the cart in your signature. When the cart is sitting. Not being used. The batteries will discharge 1% each day

Every single charger I have (or have had) have remained plugged in when not in use. Whether it be at home, work, hunting camp, or out of state. All I do when I arrive to one that has set for a while is check the water level and initiate a manual charge in case I am just before a maintenance cycle kicks in. This ensures a topped off pack when I jump on later..... |

Re: hypothetical question
And what Nole said will change if. The electric goes off where the charger is plugged in. The charger will not cone back on and charge again, until you unplug the charger and plug it back in. To start a new charge cycle

Re: hypothetical question
Thanks fellas. Yes, I have OBC and IQ PLUS charger, so it appears either way it will self maintain as long as the electricity does not go off.

If the power goes out when a charging cycle is taking place, the OBC will keep checking the AC power to finish the charge for up to 7 days and only then it will go off line. The OBC will also go off line once it calculates that there is a good possibility that all of the charging cycles may have depleted too much water from the battery. This would normally take 6 months or more in storage. |

Re: hypothetical question
I think you are referring to when/where it times out.... The 16 hour limit. That would require it be unplugged (for 20+ seconds) and then plugged back in.
