Battery Issue
I have a 2013 clubcar precedent cart. Found out two of my batteries were bad went I tested them. I replaced one of them. Cart came back dead and tested the batteries again. Found out that the new one I replaced was reading bad. It was placed beside a faulty one in the cart. My question is can a faulty battery drain the new battery that’s beside it. Can someone assist? Thanks

Re: Battery Issue
Older batteries will drain power from newer batteries. Or rather, your weakest battery will drain power from stronger batteries. This will shorten the life span of your newer battery.
Some more intelligent folks on here will chime in with specifics as to why and how this happens I am sure. But in the mean time, here is a sticky to get you some more information on batteries. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...batteries.html |

Re: Battery Issue
First of all, one battery does not discharge into another, that is not how electricity works.
The likely options are: 1) You connected the positive wire from the charger receptacle to the wrong battery post and one battery is not getting charged.Unless the batteries were brand new, either replace all of them or find one about the same conditions as the other ones or you will have a very imbalanced charging. |

Re: Battery Issue
Its a 48 volt excel system. The red positive wire that comes from the charging resectable is connected at the main positive that comes from the solenoid. The new battery in question that was reading 5 volts when I believe it should be reading 8 volts is connected to the negative that runs through the obc onto the controller.

Re: Battery Issue
I had two bad batteries in the cart. I replaced one of them and was going to replace the other within a weeks time. The other 4 are fairly new have about a months difference when purchasing them. All of them were purchased in year 2018 stemming from january

Re: Battery Issue
I am confused now, the T-1275 is a 12v battery, did you mean T-875?
Are there any other wires tapped for accessories in any of the batteries posts? An 8v battery should read around 8.6v when charged. |
