Redhawk light kit- 16 volts?
I bought an LED light kit from Redhawk part# LGT-306E8LT2B1... I installed the kit today on a 2014 Club Car Precedent. This kit includes a voltage reducer.
Before I powered up the lights I wanted to check the voltage at the front lights. for some reason I am getting 16 volts, instead of 12 volts? Any ideas? I dont want to fry the light kit. I am new to all this... I'm pretty sure I followed the directions in the kit. |

Is the reducer 48-12 volt or 16-12 volt.
If it is16-12 volt it will show 16 volts without a load. When you hook the lights up it will show 12 volts. |

I guess it is 16v to 12v. I didn’t think about that until just now. Long term that is probably not the best for the batteries since it will be pulling power from only 2 batteries instead of equally pulling from all 6.

Also keep in mind those reducers will always measure 16v from positive output to pack negative.
The "reduction" from 16v->12v is done on the negative reducer wire so don't use any other negative for the accessories. Replacing that reducer with a 48v->12v "plug and play" reducer is very easy on a Precedent, You just need to move the blue wire from the +16v battery post to the pack positive battery post. |

What would be the recommended 48-12v reducer for this 6x-8v system?

Redhawk light kit- 16 volts?

Yes it’s a 30 amp reducer. It adapts to the light harness with no wiring necessary. It also has an additional output so you can add a fuse block and a ground block. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sergio, So when installing the 48 to 12 reducer I would connect the blue wire to the blue wire in my picture? Battery 1? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
