1997 Club Car 48 Volt No Forward Only Reverse. Please Help been over a year!
I purchased a 1997 Club Car DS that was 48 volt and a series drive system. First thing I had to do was purchase all new batteries so that I could get the correct voltage for the battery pack. My battery pack now will get up to 60 volts at full charge so I believe everything is good with my batteries. I have also upgraded from my multi-step potentiometer by purchasing the pre-mcor to mcor 4 conversion kit from David at Revolution Golf Cars and also installed a new heavy duty forward reverse switch (lever). Now that I have everything back installed and wired properly, or so i think, I can only get the dang cart to move in reverse. I have tried bypassing the micro switch for the half speed limiter by connecting the green and white and even the green and black to no success. I have completely bypassed the forward reverse switch by connecting the orange and blue cable and white and blue cable on the rocker lever switch. Still no success. I am getting the correct voltage when testing the controller and pushing the accelerator. My solenoid activates when in reverse and in forward but golf cart still only moves in reverse. I have contacted David Hicks with Revolution Golf Carts and he is just as stumped as I. I am hoping someone out here on Buggies Gone Wild can help me out with any testing I should do to see if anything else is wrong. The only next step I can think of is getting a new controller but dont want to drop the 400+ dollars until I am 100% sure. Thank you guys again for all the help prior to this post and hope I can get this thing going!!

Calling Sergio.............
A little background here. Like he mentioned above, I had him hard-wire the four cables that attach to the F&R switch as if it were permanently in the forward position, and completely bypass the half speed resistor in the throttle wire. The car will not run forward. I've called engineers at Club Car and spoken with them about this, and they are stumped as well. The vehicle will operate in reverse whether we are using the half speed resistor or not. We have checked the throttle signal at the controller and it is correct. The solenoid is clicking with every pedal cycle as it should, the car just will NOT run in forward. I'm anxiously awaiting an answer to this one. Sergio, you're the only person I know of who may be able to add some extra ideas to this. |

Will the motor itself run in forward? As in testing with a 12 volt battery.

Have you try switching the pivot terminals on forward reverse switch to see if it will go forward not reverse?

Do you have a better photo of the motor connections?

Wish there was a better photo, but according to the diagram that orange and green should not be next to each other on the motor.

Here is a better close up. I have not tried jumping straight to the motor from a 12 volt battery as I was afraid I would damage it not doing it correctly.

Which diagram are you referring to? This is what I have been going off of.

This diagram is showing orange and white next to each other. But I think you are wired correctly. Could not see markings in first photo.
In the stickies: "95-03 48 volt." |
