Default 94 Club Car DS takes off when key is turned on.

I have a DS that I am building. I swapped the motor for a Plum Quick Bandit and when I hooked everything back up and turned the key on it started forward on its own. I am reasonably sure I hooked everything back up the way it was! Any help is appreciated. Is this a solenoid issue or have I crossed a wire?

It has the controller setup. Not the block of resistors.

Is this a 36v or a converted 48v?

What controller and throttle system are you using?

Is the pedal coming back like it should?

Ill have to check the controller. Looked like a Curtis. And Im not sure what you mean by throttle system. It has the plastic triangle box next to the batteries. Is that the v glide? It does not have the 6 posts of resistors on it.

The pedal is working fine. In fact, it takes off without even hitting the pedal. It starts moving as soon as the key is turned on.

The pedal may not be working fine. If the wiper arm is not going all the way down (coming all the way back inside the v-glide) it will take off.

And/or the micro-switch in the v-glide. But was it in Fwd when this occurred? If not, there is a problem in the switch

It sat for about three weeks while I was making the motor swap. When I hooked it back up it happened.

I wanted to update this thread with what appears to be the problem. There is a ball stud under the cart on the accelerator pedal. It connects the throttle linkage to the accelerator and to the V-glide on the other end. That ball stud was broken. This allowed the v glide to stay wide open - essentially tricking the cart into thinking you were mashing the gas. It is a horribly unsafe design - and probably why they aren't like that anymore.

I have never had that particular thing happen. But, it would keep the wiper from working properly in the v-glide. Glad you found out what it was.
