2000 48v cart dead, just died
My buddy has a 2000 48v cart he said he was just cruising along and all the sudden it just quit on him. It won't work. The pack has a full charge and reads 51v. He said the solenoid does click like it should but nothing else happens. This cart has factory controller and on board computer. Any thoughts or suggestions where to start looking?

Make sure all the cables are still connected even on the motor and controller

Yep, then if all the cables are still there and in place, check the throttle signal out to the controller.

Re: 2000 48v cart dead, just died
Guessing this has the mcor throttle then? I haven't seen it in awhile so I don't recall, when he told me I told him to check the microswitch in the vglide but he said his solenoid is clicking. Will try get over to take a look at it and take a reading. Is the output from the throttle pot voltage or resistance and what's the range I should be checking for?

Re: 2000 48v cart dead, just died
If it is an MCOR (would have been a conversion) then with the batteries connected, place the black (–) probe on packs main Negative post and the red (+) probe on the yellow wire at the 3-pin connector near the MCOR. (The reading should be approximately ~0.32vdc to ~0.5vdc with the pedal up). Slowly press the Go Pedal and the readings should increase until it reaches ~4.65vdc or more when the pedal is fully pressed. (Anything less than 4.60vdc and you are not reaching full throttle). If the reading is erratic or jumps all over the place it is a bad MCOR output signal..... Get one here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/mcors (If no voltage coming out, there is another wire coming in of the three (3) there (may be white w/black stripe) that you need to probe and see if you get 5vdc. There is a constant 5vdc going in and then the potentiometer regulates the output back to the controller thru the Yellow wire.

Is this a Regen car or a series car? Diagnostic processes are vastly different between different systems.

Series cart and he believes throttle goes to vglide box with the small resistors then out to controller. I still haven't gotten over there, just what he's told me so far.

Re: 2000 48v cart dead, just died
If it is an MSP, then take the yellow wire off pin 3 on your controller and with the cart jacked up, in forward, and key on, check the voltage from pedal up to pedal down and it should go from 0vdc to 5vdc gradually changing. You should have 48v Pos on pin 1 at the Controller when you press the pedal. For Ohms, probe the Yellow and White wires. You're looking for a range of 5000 ohms to 0 ohms.

Re: 2000 48v cart dead, just died
If it's a series car and the solenoid clicks when you press the pedal, and the throttle signal to the controller is good, check the F&R switch very close. Look at the front and back of it and inspect for melting around the contacts.

Re: 2000 48v cart dead, just died
He thinks it's the f-n-r switch he said he had to wiggle it to get it working then it just quit. The cart is a2000 48v ds. I took him the one from the cart I'm working on (2000 ds 36v resistor cart) since I'm not using it. It appears to be a different style, the one I removed had 5 wires and a single micro switch on it the one he has only has 4 wires and 3 micro switches. Is there a way to make it work? Does it need all 3 micro switches? I figured the one from this 36v cart might hold up better for him.
