Losing our posts, I cannot remember what else we discussed.

Do you here the solenoid open (click) when any of this is occurring?

Absolutely I can here the solenoid open. Weird thing is I can tell when the cart is going to do it. Even in reverse it will drop out backing out of my garage barely pressing the go pedal down. I can here it clearly open or drop out on downhills. I would think to replace the solenoid but itís fine on any flat or uphills....

Maybe the controller has an issue causing it to drop out the solenoid. I would like to see a flow chart that explains how the controller operates in all situations. Mine has the stock Curtis controller.

Have you removed and tested the solenoid? As in the field coil? Wondering if it is weak and dropping out....

Iíve not. Iíve got a local shop picking it up today. They can get any fault codes off and go from there. If I had more time I would change it out.

Angry Re: Precedent IQ - Beeping & Regen on downhills?

Guys, I got the cart back but the same problem came back within a day.

I sent it to a local shop and they troubleshooted it down to the solenoid, said no faults present in the iQ system... Replaced it with new factory solenoid for my model.

Got it back, ran fine, within a day the same symptoms came back. Solenoid drops out on downhill only at fast and slow speeds and even slow in reverse.
Re-Cap of what has been tested in this thread:
  1. Checked the diode on the tow switch. It metered out good, but possibly it has issues during operation that I can't test with a meter...
  2. Had local shop troubleshoot and they installed new solenoid, ran fine and dropped it off. Played a round of golf, no issues, pulled it out the next morning and the issue is back just like before.
Local shop tested the MCOR and it indicated it performed fine on the iQ reader they had.
Where to go from here: These are my thoughts but feel free to give me any suggestions:
  1. Order and replace the diode in question.
  2. Replace the motor magnet and sensor.
Maybe this is why it happens sometimes and not others?
  3. Replace MCOR
Possibly this is going bad and only drops signal when in motion??? Weird it's only on downhill and while in reverse...
    Advanced Alternates
  4. Ohm the motor w/meter, remove and inspect brush condition.
  5. Order another controller (Alltrax/Other)
  6. Replace motor if needed or want more performance.

I would start with replacing the diode, they are cheap and your symptoms are very similar to what would happen if the diode fails under current.

100% agree with Sergio. That is just like the '09s that had the "drop-out" issue and you know it is not the solenoid now since it has just been replaced.

And unless you are lifting your foot all the way off the Go Pedal, I do not believe the MCOR MS can drop the coil once it has gained the permissive to close it. The Speed Sensor will put you in "limp" mode, but does not cause the solenoid to open.

Quick update.

I talked with David @ revolutiongolfcars.com. He suggested also testing the obc by bypassing it. I unplugged the connector and jumped the white and blue only on the cart harness. It ran but still had the same issue. Also to confirm the obc is probably working fine it charges with <6 month old new batteries to ~52vdc using the stock power drive charger.

Iíve got the diode assembly, a new mcor, obc bypass harness kit(JIC) and precharge resistor ( only $5 why not)on the way.
