Help! Alltrax XCT500 Precharge Error - New Install
2014 Club Car Precedent 48V w/ OBC
Hey y’all! Long time lurker here who finally got the courage to do some mods on my Precedent. So I just finished installing the Alltrax XCT48500-IQ with upgraded 400a solenoid and 2g wire all ordered from Scotty over at cartsunlimited. I bought an Admiral a4 as well but I haven’t installed that yet. So as of right now I’m running the stock AMD motor. I finished the install last night and drove the cart around for a few test runs, and everything seemed to be running great. I came in and plugged it in for the night. The next morning I care out to go for a ride and I’m getting nothing. I plugged in my laptop to find that the controller is throwing a precharge error. And the 1 green 6 red flashing confirmed that. Pack voltage is steady at 50.9 I sent Scotty an email but figured I’d post here as well. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what is wrong and how I should go about troubleshooting? |

Re: Help! Alltrax XCT500 Precharge Error - New Install
I had that happen a couple weeks ago. Made no sense. I cut it off, went back 10 mins later and blink codes for "Pre-Charge Failure". This is odd as the XCT its pre-charge controlled thru the Run/Tow switch. I cycled it a few times and still nothing. I powered everything down and still nothing. I verified current thru the Run/Tow and to the controller.
I just plugged it in, emailed Ron Manns at Alltrax and he told me check the Voltage Reducer if I installed one. The next day when I came out to check it, I unplugged it and it ran fine. Has never repeated, but Ron never told me what role the VR could or could not have played in this.... |

Re: Help! Alltrax XCT500 Precharge Error - New Install
So a little update:
I was testing all of my connections with a voltage meter. Can’t remember what I was testing when this happened but all of a sudden the solenoid clicked and the controller rebooted. Everything runs fine ever since that happened. Very strange. Maybe the solenoid was stuck? Maybe Scotty or David will have some thoughts. |
