Default Charging issue

I have a 99 ds. Batteries are reading 47.5. Cart runs and dash gauge is in the green but close to charge letters. When i plug in charger it shows 5amps n i hear no clicks. Read the batteries and they show 47.9. Got the cart in oct and if i remember right the batteries read 49v. I have not charged them all winter. Left the run tow switch in tow. The guy said the batteries were 1.5 yrs old

This is what i have done so far. Cut the black wire from.charge port. Jumped wire to number 6 battery. Charger never went past 2amps. Reset obc. Still nothing. I dont have a 8v battery charger to charge each 1 individually. I only have a 12v charger. Am i missing something???

Is the amp gauge stuck or is it something else, as it shows current going to the pack.

And how long has it been charging?

When off it goes to zero. The batteries range from 7.8 lowest to 8.0. Cart sat all winter. I dont have a 8v or 48v charger to charge individually. Just have a 12v charger.

Plug it in, if 3-8 seconds later the amp gauge jumps up, just let it charge and see if anything changes. Granted, it should go high and then work its way back down, but I have seen it do things we could not explain and still work.

And after and hour or so, if it does not raise the pack voltage as it should, we can look further.

Let it charge at the 5 amp range for as long as it continues to charge. If the pack resting voltage never gets above 49-50v, you’re pack is weak weak weak and you need to look at options unless your are budget restricted.

I had left it plugged in yest for over a hour and it hasnt changed. I am budget constrained as i would have liked to get the cart threw its first camping season. I will go lithium but cant afford a 2k hit.

Sometimes cart chargers can take 12 to 18 hours or more to charge. They don’t always drop amperage fast. If you have a dead cell or a bad battery in your pack it can take a loooong time to charge or may not charge well at all.
