just clicks
Good Morning,
I have a 48v 2001 club car 6" lift 22" tires. The kids were driving it and it just stopped. I checked connections and charged the cart. When pressing gas pedal you hear a click and a slight electrical buzz sound which seems to be coming from the controller. I have found that the A2 terminal on the motor is loose. you can push it in and out by hand. i pulled it out as far as i could and tightened down the first nut. hard to tighten down but have it snugged down for now. still nothing happening. Like i said I am getting the solenoid click and a faint electrical buzz but no movement. There is also a short 3 wire female pigtail coming off the back of the electrical motor. It wasn't plugged in to the male hanging above it. I plugged that in thinking it bounced apart but didn't make a difference. I unplugged it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Re: just clicks
The three pin connector was most likely the speed sensor, this needs to be connected or the cart will never run full speed. As for the loose A2 connection, this could have caused an arc wich may have damaged the controller. You could send the control to a place like FSIP and they could test the unit for a small fee.

Re: just clicks
The day before i was trying to go up a hill and smelt some burning. Like brushes burning on a cordless tool. But it drove fine after.

Re: just clicks
You mentioned that the A2 terminal was loose and could be pushed in and out by hand. There is a very good possibility the internal connection has been damaged and not passing any current. The terminals on the motor should always be tight and when removing and installing cables should always use the two wrench method to keep from twisting the terminals.
