1994 club car 36v blowing v drive micro switch
I recently changed solenoid, took pictures of solenoid before I took it apart. I'm sure I put all wires back and diode the way they should be, but I keep blowing v drive micro switch (2 so far, glad they're not expensive). From what I read here if diode is backwards it will blow v drive ms but I'm quite sure it's installed correctly. What would be another cause for blown MS in v drive? Thanks for any help. I usually find my answer here by searching but this time I'm stumped.

Simple test: Take the diode off. If it does not blow MS then put one back the other way.

Re: 1994 club car 36v blowing v drive micro switch
I removed diode and cart worked. Drove around a in few circles and worked fine so I swapped the diode around and when I pushed pedal the diode fried. The v drive micro switch did not fry this time just the diode. Did I have a bad diode from the beginning?? Thanks again

You mean it was bad to begin with or when I reversed diode it shorted somehow? Sorry for dumb question, I appreciate your help.

Re: 1994 club car 36v blowing v drive micro switch
A diode acts like a one way valve it will pass current one way and block current the other way. Some meters have a diode test some don’t you can use ohms setting.Basicly you put the leads on the diode then swap the leads it should only read one way diode must be out of the circuit. If a diode reads both ways it shorted out.Take a picture of it and post it so we can see how it’s hooked up.
