2013 CC Precedent upgrade gone bad
Hey folks, newbie to the forum. I recently bought and installed a madjax Alpha body kit. It came with a new bucket harness. Thought it would be an easy swap, we’ll it was until it came to the electrical. Also had an old 48v-12v reducer get really hot, it looked corroded and cracked, so I replaced it with a reliance dc power converter. First converter was bad out of the box (took a while to troubleshoot since I never expected it to NOT work out of the box.) So I also put in a reliance 48v gauge in. The charger works, and charges to over 50v, the headlights work, the newest reducer works, new 48v gauge works, but the reverse buzzer is on as soon as you turn the key and never goes off in F/N/R. There is a clicking behind the batteries when I turn the key switch. I hear the microswith under the gas pedal but that it. Any ideas?

It sounds like something is hooked up wrong somewhere. Disconnect everything you've added and see if the vehicle will operate. Hopefully you haven't hooked something up wrong and caused any damage to your controller. This will tell you for sure if there is something going on or if there's a wiring issue somewhere.

Yeah, that gremlin has to be set free. As TD stated, unhook it all. Sounds bad with the Rev Buzzer on as that is a logic controller and it believes the rocker switch is in reverse.

Thanks guys, I’ll pull the buckets harness next and see if I can isolate.

Removed all the new stuff, I think, and the reverse buzzer is still on when I turn the key. Does anyone know if the hot side of the key is supposed to be 12v or 48v?

Also try unplugging the Frd/Rev Rocker switch (3 wires) and see if you still get the buzzer. If so, it is more than likely a controller issue |
