New Member Question
Hi Guys. Replaced all batteries on a 48v Club Car I recently bought.....didnt run. Replaced the selenoid...didnt run. Had a local guy install a controller which blew as soon as he hit the excellerator. He is charging me for the controller, now. The controller is a 1510-5201. I did some research and read that this controller can only be used with the IQ system. I think my cart is an Excel. Is this why the controller blew? Thanks...and looking forward to everyones knowledge!

New Member Question
That’s lame of him to charge you for the controller if you say he blew it. It’s his job to make sure the cart is wired correctly and the controller is compatible before trying it.
What year is your cart? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: New Member Question
Did he tell you your original controller was bad? Or did you tell him the controller was bad?
Did anyone bother to test the motor? There are simple tests that can be done on all the parts of the cart rather than throwing parts at it. Throwing parts gets real expensive real quick. |

Re: New Member Question
What is the year of your cart and what is the serial number?
An I2/Excel controller will not blow if installed in an IQ cart, but it will not run correctly. There is a short somewhere feeding back to the controller, but no way should a tech charge you for that as he should make his own inspections before replacing the controller. And if he ordered the wrong model controller, he is not a tech I would want to use.... It should have been the same model Curtis controller. |

Re: New Member Question
I hope you meant OBC (On Board Computer (for your charger)) and if so, he is not being truthful with you. That is a Sepex cart and its OBC is not needed for the operation of the cart is it was in a Series. Only thing that could cause you an issue would be the controller lockout circuit.
None of this would have "blown" the controller he placed in it. |

Re: New Member Question
Muzner,
Welcome to BGW. We could be more help to you if you let us know what year your car is. The serial number should be located under the dash board, if you can post that we can tell you what year it is, and which drive system it has. Aflyer |
