Accessories Cutting Out
Hi, I’m a new golf cart owner of about 2-3 weeks and we’ve been loving our purchase. The cart we bought was a used 2009 Club Car. It has the LED’s, stereo, lights, etc. Last week the stereo and LED’s started cutting off randomly. Then today they completely cut out. I’ve looked at the wiring and everything seems to be intact. Any idea of where I should start? Or should I just consult a local professional? Any help is appreciated!

What is the 12 volt power source on that cart?

Re: Accessories Cutting Out
It’s a 48V cart...everything was working fine for the first couple of weeks. It’s 6 8v batteries.

Re: Accessories Cutting Out
Are you using a 48-12v reducer or are you using 2 of the 8v batteries for accessory power is what mooncarter is asking.

Using the 48-12 reducer for the accessories that are not working.

Re: Accessories Cutting Out
I charged the cart all night last night and when I turned it on, the accessories all came on like normal. Voltage was measuring right above 10 v from the 12v feed while it was just sitting. I just tried to take it for a ride with everything on and made it maybe 50 feet before the radio and LED’s cut out (the only items connected to the reduced). Checked the voltage from the 12 v feed and it’s now at zero. Does my voltage reduced need replaced?

Re: Accessories Cutting Out
Y’all, I think I made a bonehead move. I attached a bottle opener key chain to the key last week and I think that’s the culprit. Every time I hit a bump, it would mess with the key just enough to cut out the accessories, but not the cart. I’ve taken the key chain off and I haven’t had any problems. Thanks for reading this thread and trying to help a newbie out!

Re: Accessories Cutting Out
Ha Ha! At least it's a cheap fix
Thanks for being man enough to come back and admit the issue; Lord knows I've done my fair share of bonehead things and wasted hours trying to fix a problem that wasn't there to begin with. |
