Default 95 cc ds 48vplus? What is this part

We just got this golf cart and was wondering what this part is for? the cart will go with the lever in either position it is located between the batteries under seat

That is a local disconnect switch. You will have to trace it back to see what/where it was added for. It is not part of the OEM cart.

Thank you for the info I had never seen one on any of the carts I had driven we just got this one second hand

Not unless it is entwined with the charging circuit somewhere. (Which I would highly doubt) I would figure out where it goes to and remove it since it is more than likely not needed.
