Light kit wiring with four 8v in series
I recently bought a 2012 Club Car that had a light kit installed. I want to install a USB charger, which I’ve gathered I need a voltage reducer—preferably the 48v to 12v. In researching installations of light kits, I understand that a voltage reducer is best, although the lights would work on 16v. So I looked at how my lights are wired, and it looks like it is wired on the positive end of battery #1 and negative end on battery #4. This means that it is wired for 32v. With my voltage meter, I checked the power running to the light plug and it only measured 16v. I’m very confused. Any thoughts on the matter? I’ve attached a photo of the battery wiring.

Regardless, wire both accessories through a reducer and fused buss bar which will provide a 48v source positive and negative pack voltage to a 12v reducer output going/wired to a fused buss bar which in turn both accessory input positive and negative wires will connect to.
