Default Need some speed!

Alright guys, I have a stock ‘07 precedent. I live in a hilly neighborhood and really need something to give me some speed. Right now I do about 15 mph on flat ground and can barely make it up some of the hill. I’ve got a rear seat and am planning on all terrain tires and a lift in the near future.. What are some options to give me some more speed and torque and what’s the cost and install difficulty of each option?

I recently installed an Alltrax controller on my precedent, and couldn’t be happier. I top out around 22-23 mph on a stock cart per gps.

In a hilly neighborhood you are going to need both a Alltrax Controller (preferably a 500 amp) and a speed motor. I have the AMD 7144. This got me up to 25mph flat land and 18mph uphill. When a installed a lift w/20" tires I now go 20mph up the TN hills. Flatlands I don't have to drive WOT anymore. Cost, about $1500. I have a 06 Precedent.

I recently installed the XCT controller and FSIP torque motor. Torque for hills. The results are awesome. This motor gives up a couple of MPH vs the FSIP speed but it is better suited for hills and carts with big tires. Stock tires gave 27.5 with the speed motor and 24.5 with the torque motor. If you have 23" tires (22% taller) your numbers will look more like 30 and 33 mph

I have the FSIP torque motor one alltrax 500 controller its got a lot of power even with 23’’ tires i can get 27mph on the flat and 32 down hill. Up hill it slows down a bit but its way faster than any gasser in my neighborhood.

So should I install lift/tires before doing that? I’m trying to make upgrades in phases.

I'd do the controller and motor first then you'll be prepared to go when you do upgrade the tires/lift. You'll still have more speed and torque than stock.

I went with the XCT500
Dave programmed it down to 400 before he sent it. I figured it wasn’t that much more expensive. It has the fan, and is ready when I order a motor from him. Just give him a call. He’ll actually talk to you and be honest with you about your needs/goals of your cart.

X2!!!

Dave will match the amps to the OEM motor and OEM wires. The throttle curve of Alltrax will give you the impression of speed. Setting the rpm’s will determine YOUR safe top speed. The boost in amps may be enough for YOUR hills. That’s phase one <500 dollars. If not happy;

Phase two will be wires/solinode/motor and program change to controller to use max amps. Break out 6-700 dollars ( or even more if the electric gear heads have a say. )
