I made one for our cart. I used scrap PVC sign sheeting 1/4" (4mm?) thick and attached it to the inside of the w ndshield frame with self-tapping sheet metal screws. It works great. You will need to measure or create a template from cardboard for your seated height. Make it come down from the top of the windshield frame low enough to block most of the sun for you or the shortest person who needs a sun visor.

I didn't feel the need for a folding visor. If I want to see the sky I can look out the side!

I made some for my old race jeep out of dark tinted plexiglass. It was dark enough to help against the sun but still allowed me to see through it.

Why not use window tint on the inside of the windshield?

If the OP has a folding windshield putting something on the windshield won't help when it is folded down.
