Can anyone tell me if its possible to get a gas cart registered in Florida yet? A buddy of mine said he had thought he saw a guy with a gas one and a tag in his neighbor hood. Also have any of you that do have yours street legal removed the windshield after it was inspected and tagged? Has this given you any trouble? I don't have a top on my cart and would like to keep it that way. Motorcycles aren't required to have them...

Gas is now legal in Fl after the process, if you do take off any of the street legal equipment you risk getting a ticket for an equipment violation.

Ok, anyone have experience with this yet? Is the process the same as the electric? Where do I start?

I have now read through this whole thread but I'm still confused..If my cart came with everything on it that is required to be street legal when I bought it, how would I get passed the requirement of "producing receipts for all the upgrades?" Would I just list each street legal component on the bill of sale?? (basically proving that I bought it with the components already on the cart)

This is probably the easiest way for you to do it. Unless your friends with the guy you bought it from and he still has the receipts.

I havn't got mine street legal.

Why would you have to show receipts when they are going to inspect the cart? It seems they should be able to visually tell if all the proper equipment is in place.

I know what you are saying because they should know what they are looking at but it seems having the receipts are the biggest part of the process. I have read on this thread about people having to re-purchase parts so it says DOT approved on the receipt of purchase. I have some experience with Florida DMV's. In my experience it has been their way or the highway. If you don't have every paper in the order they want it and in the color ink they want you are not getting it done in one trip so I'm just trying to be prepared
