Can anyone explain the windshield regulations to me?? Does it just have to be DOT approved / as4? Do they look at the receipt or is the windshield stamped? Question I ask is I do not run a top on my cart or am I real big on putting one one on so I can have a windshield. What I was thinking about was bending a metal hoop and fabricating my own "sport style" windshield and getting a DOT approved as4 1 piece windshield and having it cut down to fit the lower profile sport frame. Would have left and right side mounted mirrors, manual wiper, and the windshield would be as4 acrylic. Just didn't know if there were size regulations and or if this would work. I know you can have the flip down windshields on the street legal carts and not all motorcycles run windshields... For what it's worth if the as4 windshields are stamped I would try to retain the stamped portion when I have it cut down.
