Default 2000 Club Car DS 48v charged but won't run very long

I have a 2000 Club Car DS 48v cart with a Trojan battery pack that is 14 months old. I also have a Plum Quick Bandit motor upgrade. All the batteries are 8.5 volts after charging except 2 and they are 7.6. The 2 that are a little lower are the first 2 on the Computer side. I unhooked all accessories and lights.

The cart will run for a few mins and then starts jerking and then stops. If you sit for a few minutes it will go again, but only for 10 seconds or so.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

It is the voltage drop due to those two (2) batteries. That is a Series cart and when the voltage gets low, it will shake hard when applying the throttle. Hook your DVM up to the pack and watch how far it drops when you feel the shuttering. It will surprise you.....

Now you need to find out why the pack is going after 14 months. That is an issue in itself.

Sounds like a battery issue. I'd check the 2 lower voltage ones with a load tester first. Also make sure all the batteries have water in them along with clean, tight terminals.

Update, I load tested all the batteries. The 8.5v dropped to maybe 8v, if that. The 7.6v dropped to 5v. Luckily the T-875 has a 18 month warranty instead of 12. The place I got them from said they had a 6 month, so its a good thing I checked myself.

Do you think there is an underlying problem? The batteries never went low on water because I checked them frequently.

Do you have your lights and accessories connected straight to the batteries? If so, are they connected to the two that were low?
If power is only getting drawn from 2 batteries those two will be at a constant lower state of charge than the others, and that will kill them in about a year.
Sulfation of the plates occurs when the battery is kept in a state of low SOC, and that sulfation prevents proper charging, and causes higher self discharge of the battery.

As FT4M stated, I could only think of a 16v connection issue here unless you just had 2 bad batteries which is almost like lightening striking the same place twice....

Again. He hits the nail on the head.

I don't connect them straight to the batteries, I have a 48v to 12v voltage reducer. With my old battery pack I had a 16v to 12v, but the place I got my batteries said those sometimes cause problems so I got the one I have now.

Then it seems you just have two faulty batteries. Not unheard of, though it's not a super common occurance.

I would just make sure your cables are in good shape, and replace those two batteries.
