Default Plum quick motor still stock speed

I have a 96 Club Car DS. It has been upgraded with new plum quick bandit motor, Curtis 300amp controller, IQ Harness, MCOR 4 pedal sensor, new Trojan t875 batteries , 4 gauge wiring. I got it to my house today and tested on my road which is a flat asphalt road. Used my gps app on my phone and only got12-13mph Max. Still has stock wheels and tires, battery pack is at 50.2 volts. Also checked sensor by pushing cart for a few feet and the backup beeper started beeping. Any ideas why there’s no more speed than 12mph?

How is the Curtis programmed in regards to the speed. Not sure which one you have but if it has the CC speed codes, that could be it. Unless there is something else going on, the controller is probably the culprit. Grab a hand-held from someone or take it somewhere and get it scanned and checked.

I’ll have to take it somewhere that has the programmer. I thought I saw on here that with the plum quick motors it doesn’t matter what speed code it’s on?

The Curtis controller is where you went wrong.
They're solid controllers, but they're set from the factory to run stock speed.
If you upgrade the motor, you still run stock speed.
You need an Alltrax to really open up that motors potential.

Tony, you have a GE Regen I motor, if the cart still had the original harness you could simply unplug the speed sensor (Regen I and Regen II carts will run without the speed sensor plugged up....IQ will not). So, if you changed over to the IQ harness then you can't unplug it because the IQ needs to see the speed sensor. There is no high speed magnets for Regen I and II GE motors. You need a GE or AMD IQ motor upgraded (AMD is better) then you'll see 24-28 mph depending on which type motor and PQ or PH upgrade. Hope this helps.

How can you tell what the Curtis is set for? Can it be done without programmers?

Would an alltrax unlock the speed from a Regen 1 Motor with iq harness and MCOR pedal?
