I purchased a PlumQuick IQ motor for $300 delivered and now have speeds at WOT of 26.5 max. Normally I always hit past the 25 MPH mark. Again I have tires that are 22" tall on 10" rims.

Ya, I think the 22" tires contribute alot to the speed your getting. But about the motor your mentioning, does it bolt right on and do I need to change wiring? How much HP does it have?

Thanks, Prec

It bolts right on, (4 bolts total,) and no change to the wiring. Here is a link on what I did. Forget about the Speed Code 4 change for now and see what you get by doing the motor only. All your questions can be answered by PlumQuick as far as HP and what speeds you should get.

$300 to $400 and get 26 MPH

Here's a recent update:
Can't take the cart in until Wed. but I went through the testing of the speed sensor posted on this thread from the service manual. According to the test, the speed sensor is bad. Got good readings from all of the wires coming out of the controller. When I got to the "jack up the wheel part", I got a constant reading of 5 volts with no fluctuation. According to the manual, the voltage is supposed to flucuate 4 times on each revolution of the wheel between 0 volts and 5 volts. So I assume the speed sensor is bad..... at least have my fingers crossed.

I almost purchased one of those from Kanapalli. There was a guy in Saluda, NC selling them. I ended up purchasing the one I have from a guy in Columbia, SC as it was a much better deal. The ones from Kanapalli looked as if they were in really good shape.

Not to ask a stupid question...but you were making the wheels turn with the motors power right. If you had it jacked up and spun the wheels by hand, the motor was not turning so the signal would not change. If you only jacked up one rear wheel and spun it, that probably caused the motor to turn and then your results are correct. If both wheels were off the ground and you spun by hand, the motor DID NOT turn so the signal would not change.....Just trying to makesure your findings are correct

Amberjax,

So what's the word on the speed sensor, was it bad? Did you have it checked out on Wednesday?

Sorry it took so long to post the update.....
the speed sensor was indeed bad. Once the old sensor was removed, there seeemed to be a small slice in one of the wires. That's probably what did it. Switched the sensor with another parts cart and everything is great. Came home and checked the speed with gps. 15mph.
Feels like a rocket compared to the 7.8mph I was getting!
Thanks for all of the help and comments.
