Who Likes Em' Hot
OK heres a good question
as you may or may not know just orderd a PQ motor ( go to the vids thread to see more ) took the cart out for a nice joy ride around the block, nothing extreme just out on the road when we made our way back to our shop (both of us the G-19 and the CC) we checked the motors to see if they were hot. the yamaha was just warm to the touch and you could fry an egg on mine again nothing serious just joyriding and NO BOOST, well mabe once but one thing i did notice is the motor seems to have way more torque in reverse could it be wound backwards?? and could this be the reason its getting so hot and witch terminals do i switch to try it S1 and S2? thanks all |

Re: Who Likes Em' Hot
Not to shun you or anything but you should really start with PQ on these PQ related questions, then if you don't get a satisfactory answer post away. But no one should know their motors better than them.
Just tryn to help, As I've read here if you are going slow this will cause the motor to get hotter vs full throttle. |

Re: Who Likes Em' Hot
Exactly! Slower draws more amps/hotter motor, faster less amps/cooler motor. Is your speed still just 1 MPH faster after the motor change? Did you call PQ and ask about that? Did you get any advice from them? Just curious...

Re: Who Likes Em' Hot
ok just a little up date
went around the block to see if it would get hot, about 4 mi, and just warm and i figured out the torque problem you cant feel the torque iff the springs are bending so yeah PQ gets a big from me |
