Default 1999 Club Car DS Battery Meter

I've searched, but didn't find anything exactly like my problem, so I'm hoping someone can help. I just purchased a pre-owned Club Car that has an LED horizontal bar-based "state of battery" display. It also automatically switches to show the temperature and the time. I have no operating manual or instructions, so I'm going by best-guess information.

The cart is a 48-volt unit and I've been using the Power Drive2 charger that the dealer supplied. I've noticed that each of the last 2-mornings, I've come out to the charger being off. The dealer says the charger automatically shuts off when a full charge is achieved. Is this correct? The problem bothers me is that the meter is still showing the 2-far left led bars toggling blicking read, which I'm assuming means low-charge.

He said after a few chargers, the meter "resets itself" and will start showing a full and accurate display of the battery state. Is this true or is the dealer blowing smoke?

Put your meter on the batteries and see what your reading is after a full charge. That would be the first step. If the batt. are full charge then you would know the meter is off. Maybe a member has that gauge and can fill us in on how it works.
