Default ds 36v to 48v?

has anyone changed there 36v club car to a 48v with just 4 12v car batterys?i know it wont last as long as having 6 8v, but im not looking to spend a ton of money on new batterys. where is a good place to buy batterys? has anyone used autozone car batterys in there cart?

Autozone here doesn't Golf car batteries. You can buy less expensive batteries but they won't last like others, you need a battery that is made for duty cycles, car batteries are not, deep cycles like marines batteries are not.

$80 GOLF CART BATTERIES at WalMart and Sams
better than car batteries and deepcycle boat batteries--not as good as Trojans but they work well in my cart..that my 2 cents worth.

Trojan has the black box battery for 85 bucks same as a t105 according to a local dealer. T105's are 130. Anyone know anything about these black box batteries?
