Default Precedent charging question?

I just built a really clean 2005 precedent. Has 2017 US batteries in the 4-12v set up. While charging, each battery measures 14.2-14.4v individually but the pack only measures 42.6 volts?? It seems to run perfect but it’s got me a bit stumped. Anyways here a few pics before I added armrests to the rear seat.

Check the battery in your volt meter.

Battery in volt meter seems fine. I’me getting a solid reading testing the batteries individually? Just an oddball pack reading? Would a low volt meter battery cause that?

It looks like you are just reading the voltage across 3 batteries, make sure your meter probes are in the pack positive and pack negative battery posts.

I’me an idiot. Just went out to the garage. Was testing last night at 1am and was foggy in the Brain I guess. Was probing the wrong post on batter #4!! I am a bit concerned the charger has been running for about 10 hrs though and batteries are bubbling pretty good? Pack is reading 58.9

Did you bypass the OBC? I've thought about doing that but was worried that the charger would never shut off. Is that what happens when you bypass?

No bypass. Batteries sat for about 2.5 months not plugged in and probably 90% when I parked it for the rebuild. Is 10-12 hrs normal?

If they were just hooked back up and this is the first charge, the OBC is preliminary charge and evaluation of the pack. It takes a bit longer than a normal charge, and it can vary depending on how discharged the pack was. Some boiling and out-gassing from the batteries is normal during the initial charge. It's not uncommon for an initial charge to run up to 12-14 hours. The OBC should time out around 16 hours.
A "normal charge" depends how far you run the cart in a day. Most people probably only need to charge 6-8 hours after driving the cart.

The only reason to bypass the OBC is for testing purposes to determine if there is a problem with it or the charger.
If you bypass the OBC you need to buy a smart charger.
The original charger that comes with the cart has nothing inside to tell it to turn on or off, it is only a power supply device. The OBC in the cart controls the on/off and controls the charge current (Amps) that comes out of the charger. Using a stock Club Car charger without the OBC will charge at full amp output and it will NOT turn off. It will literally boil your batteries to death.
