Question Replacing my old wipper switch with solid state

Hey, guys, I'm new to the golf cart world. I have an old 91 Club car, 36 volt, series system. It has the old wipper switch assembly. I would like to upgrade my motor and controller. Can I replace the old wipper switch assembly with a new solid state controller? Solid state has got to be more power frienldy than the rheostat controle. Like I said, I'm new to carting, but I know a little about electricity.

You are spot on about the efficiency ... Use the search that drops down out of the blue bar above..... Lots of guys have successfully made the solid state conversion, most of them have gone to 48v at the same time
search "48v conversion" for starters.
