Default 2000 club car moves without hitting pedal

Good morning everyone,

I'm a new member and this would be my first post.
I have a 2000 club car DS 36 volt. My issue is that the cart goes forward without hitting the pedal. I turn the key to the on position, and i hear activity, then i turn the F-N-R lever to forward and the cart surges forward. I put it back to N and it stops. Cart does not do the same thing when i push the lever into R. nor is the reverse alarm on.

I appreciate any help on this

Erick

Is this a resistor cart with a set of coils behind the batteries and only one solenoid?

Unless someone has been re-wiring the cart wrong, a stuck Solenoid or a always ON pedal micro-switch causes that problem.

With the cart in Forward, If You hear the Solenoid click as soon as You turn the key switch ON, replace the pedal micro-switch.

If You do not hear the Solenoid click, replace the Solenoid as it is stuck closed.

Use this diagram to make sure things are wired correctly in case you just got the cart and it has an unknown maintenance history.

If you end up needing a solenoid, replace it with an OEM solenoid, part number 101975901. Club Car used the 8016 solenoids in these resistor cars for a while, but later decided that the 101975901 was a better solenoid for this application, while the 8016 is now reserved for the multi-solenoid cars only.

So i finally got around to trying to fix this cart of mine, i replaced the micro switch and the solenoid with the suggested one, and i still have the same problem.

With the key on i put the cart in forward or reverse and the cart jumps a little bit, but not much. like it's losing power when i do that. Very strange. Any other ideas?

Thank you

Double check the FNR wiring according to the diagram I posted for your cart.

I am not sure I understand the "jumps a little bit" symptom, is it just a momentary issue or do the wheels continue to rotate at low speed?

Does the cart work in both Forward and Reverse if You press the pedal down?

Could the pedal be adjusted so far off that its causing it to move? In reverse with less power it may not seem like its moving but is still completing the circuit.
