No Reverse
Hi all,
I'm new to this and our High School Marching Band purchased a 98' Club Car Carryall. One problem is there is no reverse. It seems that the contact on the switch are in good order with no signs of heat issues. The three micro switches are all working. When in reverse we can hear a rumble from the motor. One weird thing. We put it up on a jack and when in reverse the wheels turned but forward. Thoughts? Thanks in advance, |

Re: No Reverse
Correct, but it wasn't consistent. If I take it to a dealer do you think it will cost an arm and leg?

Re: No Reverse
Are you saying it runs fine in forward but you have no reverse?

Re: No Reverse
Correct. Perfectly fine in Forward. The motor just rumbles a little in reverse. I put the charger on it just in case that has anything to do with it.

Re: No Reverse
Club Car had all sorts of stuff around 1998, drive systems, motors etc. But I'm not sure about the electric Carryalls.

Re: No Reverse
It has the rotary switch with the 3 micro switches and the Carter Speed control. If that helps any.

Re: No Reverse
OK. Are you sure it is not "Curtis" on the controller?
Rotary FNR sounds like a series motor. Does it have a pie shaped black box connected by a rod from the go pedal? How are the motor studs labeled? S!, S2, F1 etc? What are they? |

Re: No Reverse
I will get some pictures for you and will also check out under the pedal. The guy it was purchased from said he was rinsing it out and it stopped going in reverse.

Re: No Reverse
Motor is S1 S2 and A1 A2 Controller is a Curtis 1204-412 the switch looks exactly like the CC92F if that helps. I will say I just messed with it again and I noticed that it got SUPER Hot and even smoked a little when in reverse and holding the pedal down. As far as the pedal switch goes I was not able to get under the cart but will get some ramps to pull up on to here in a little while.
