Default 1992 DS hot

My 36 volt DS gets hot when in forward and not moving. Is this normal? Also is it normal for the reverse buzzer to work even when the key is in the off position.

It’s a stock resistor cart. Thinking about updating

Is it a V-Glide with one solenoid, or a bank of solenoids?

And no it is not normal.

Either the solenoid is stuck, or something is making it activate. Is the pedal, and the wiper inside the V-glide returning all the way back?

Take the 2 batteries out on the drivers side so you can get a good look inside the vglide , as Mooncarter said , make sure it travels all the way back down AND all the way to the top....and that the pad rides flat against the contacts.... even if its the solenoid I would still look at the vglide...
