UPDATE Do the Dual Action rear leaf springs ride noticeably rougher than stock?
I had posted a few weeks ago asking if anyone had experience with the heavy duty dual action leaf springs for a CC DS make the cart ride noticeably rougher, and after having them installed I wanted to copy this update out here.
I told my tech who installed the new springs that I was concerned about it riding rougher and he suggested just completely disconnecting the rear shocks. I tried it and now the cart rides smoother and softer than it did with the original springs and shocks. Now it just softly bounces over bumps (reminds me of the way a lifted Jeep rides) and I have minimal body roll, both when cornering and even when the wheelchair lift picks up my wheelchair from next to the cart and swings it around to the back. I would highly recommend that anyone who upgrades to the heavy duty leaf springs try running it with the rear shocks at least disconnected. Then, worst case if you have your cart setup with a lot of weight on the back and you need more resistance than just the springs, it’s easy to reconnect the shocks. I just completely removed mine. |

wonder if that would work on my 2013 carryall 6, haven't even got to these issues yet but the wheels actually bounce off the pavement over small bumps and now that you allude to it, it hit me that it does actually ride like an empty dump truck. Pretty sure mine is too stiff in the front too.

Interesting it’s that different on the DS. On my Precedent I don’t notice any difference unloaded with the springs and they prevent sag when loaded.
