Default 1980 club car won't move

1980 36 volt club car was working fine the. Kids were ridding it and it quit working. one of the red wires going to the motor from the forward reverse switch was melted a little by the solenoid resistor coil and the motor was hot. I replaced the wire and it still won't move in forward or reverse I can here the solenoids clicking, I'm thinking maybe the forward reverse switch got fired but I'm not sure how to test it . I checked the micro switch for continuity and it does have continuity. One thing my daughter said her friend was doing donuts and switching from forward to reverse very quickly.

Pull the cables off and test the motor. These carts are not made for that new, and it's 40 years old.

Use 2 wrenches so you won't spin the stud. Soak the nuts/studs first with PB Blaster or something similar. And, as old that thing is the exposed threads should probably by cleaned with a wire brush depending on condition.

I'm not familiar with that motor, but I would think it would be stamped or embossed somewhere on it. Shouldn't be that hard to find out. Can you find any other numbers?

The A1 and A2 should be on the end cap, with the S1 and S2 on the motor case. It’s just finding out which is which now...

The A1 vs A2 or S1 vs S2 doesn't matter as they can be used interchangeably.

I would not power that motor until You fix that brush wire hanging out of the Motor.
