Default 2009 Club Car DS Volt meter hook up

I need to find 48 volts in the dash of a 2009 Club Car DS Villager to connect to a voltmeter gauge. The key shows 48 Volts on one side but once turned on there is no longer 48 volts. Any help

Regards,

Gary

It is probably the way you are connecting your DVM/VOM as when you turn the key on, the 48v is still there but it is now going thru the switch and not stopped on the one side (hot side) anymore.

I connected mine directly to the pack positive and negative terminals...Yes, it is on all the time but is more accurate and only draws 6 milliamps...I like it on all the time as you can see the pack voltage whenever....

I think the key is just turning on a relay. The way I was getting the 48 volts is to go from one side of the key to ground with the meter. When the key is off it registers 48 volts, with the key on very low voltage to ground. Seeing voltage is pressure the voltage to ground should be the same with the key off or on. Thinking back I do remember I had the same issue when installing a converter from 48 v to 12 v for my lights. Guess I will have to run the meter wires back to where the converter is hooked up. In any case I will put a fuse in line just to be sure of no melt down if a wire gets pinched or worn through. Thank you for the ideas.

Is that an IQ plus with a three terminal key switch?

If so, are You saying the voltage on the terminal with the Blue wire that goes to the MCOR and Controller does not have +48v when the key switch is ON?

Is the meter negative going directly to pack negative or exactly where wire did you connect the meter negative?
