Charge Aux Battery with reducer?
I am adding a 12v aux battery, to power a winch, to a 48v club car DS with 6 8v batteries. I have a 30A stepdown to power my lights and other 12v accessories.
My question is, is there any downside to wiring that stepdown to my aux battery to charge it off of the main batteries? or is it better to just charge the 12v aux battery with a separate charger? |

Re: Charge Aux Battery with reducer?
It don't put out enough voltage to charge a battery. It needs to be more than the battery, the reducer just puts out 12 volts and the battery should be 12.7 volts. It takes more than that to charge, like 13.8 or so.
