Default 96 DS won’t move

Hello all. Purchased my first cart a ‘96 48v DS project. Been sitting and batteries were out of the cart and low. Charged batteries and all are holding slightly over 8v. Key switch on i hear the mcor click with a push of gas pedal in forward but no movement. In reverse I hear warning buzzer but still no movement pushing the pedal. Looking at solenoid (there is only one) I think I’m missing a wire. Of the 4 terminals (two large stud and two small spade) the spade terminal on the left has no wire. The right terminal has a yellow wire plugged up. What’s missing? I’m looking at diagrams in stickies but still confused.

Find the correct diagram. Seems like you are missing the 48 v positive activation wire.

Depending on what you have, check for a black/white wire coming from the FNR micro switch.

Looking at the diagram versus my cart here's what I have. The black/white wire from the the FNR switch is tied to the small red wire that comes from spade terminal #1 on the controller. The diagram shows the red wire going from controller terminal #1 to one termial of the solenoid and the black/white wire going to the other. They are spliced together and there is a yellow wire going to the solenoid that I'm trying to figure out where it comes from.

That yellow is probably coming from the OBC. (Unless it has been bypassed then it probably goes to B- on the controller or pack -)

The MCOR did not come out until 2001. Are you sure you have one?

Tell us more about that cart. 1996 could have several different drive systems/motors.

Look at the last diagram in the "Club Car Stickies" wiring diagram sticky. Is that what you have?

Just figured out the small yellow wire comes from the OBC and is going to the right spade terminal on the solenoid.

OK. The solenoid has 2 small terminals and 2 large. Forget about left and right, let's call them large and small. One small side should have that small yellow wire. Did you look at the diagram I told you about?

I did look at the diagram. From it I take the yellow should go to one termial and the white/black & red should go to the other. I'm going to try it now.

Jack the rear up off the ground if you have never run it.

Never know what might happen.
