I have been posting battery problems and I have another question,Could putting to many watts damage your batteries,or damage my controller? How many watts can a controller take?
Thanks!

Ok rasta78.
1. Set the meter to 50 Volts DC. ( Dial will be point at 2:00 Oclock)
2. Without connecting make sure the needle is at 0 ( if not adjust to 0 , by using the small yellow plastic screw between the words Sperry and SP-5A).
3. Attach the RED + to the first Battery POS (+) lead
4. Attach the Black - to the last Batteru Neg (-) lead
5. Now read from the scale which matches your selected Viotage of 50 Volts.

Note : if the needle goes past 50 Volt, simply switch the scale to 250 Volts,
(3:00 dial pointer ) and read from 250 scale.

Post results Here !!!

I understand what your saying but my problem is which color to look at on the meter? On the top is the green and its say about 35.but when I put the dial to "10" it goes far right and say about 8 for individual.I am going to go buy the digital to make it easier. Now when I get accurate readings, how will I knwo if the battery is bye bye????Thanks

once you get the digital meter and learn how to use it.......if they are 6 volt batts and your readings are lets say 6 volts to 6.2 volts fully charged thats not good you want them at least 6.4 volts or better......if they are 8 volt batts, same thing you want them at least 8.4 or better...........anything under these readings is a questionable battery and if they are just at 6 or 8 volts they are done....................................
