Break lights only work when headlights are off

I bought a Madjax Alpha body kit with the wiring harness. Then I added the ultimate light kit 02-006. I installed it. Everything works. Horn, turn signal, head lights, turn signals, and tail lights. But when the headlights are on the break lights do not work. When the headlights are off they work. Help please!!!!

Remove a rear taillight and check your voltages to see what you're getting. The picture identifies the wires.
The taillight can be removed by unscrewing the bolt (w/ washer) that you see when looking upwards at the back end of your rear wheel well. It should be the only bolt in the area.

My guess would be that the tail lights and brake lights are wired backwards. That makes perfect sense to what you are describing.

You must have a ground issue. The brake lights are making it's path to ground through the tail light element. When the tail lights are on there is no ground available for the brake lights.
