Charger Plug Left In on Series Cart
Hello,
If I leave the charger plug in the receptacle on my cart and do not connect to 110v, or after charging, disconnect from AC power but leave the charger plugged in, does it do any harm? Thanks |

Re: Charger Plug Left In on Series Cart
It wont hurt anything, no.
The only hang-up would be if the pack is not fully charged, or if the OBC in the cart tries to start a maintenance charge after sitting for ~15 days. If the OBC tells the charger to turn on and then does not detect charge current coming in, it will set a fault and disable until the DC cord is unplugged and plugged back in. I don't remember the specifics of it, but there is also the possibility the OBC disables charging until it is reset by unhooking the pack negative. |

Re: Charger Plug Left In on Series Cart
If the OBC tries to start a maintenance charge by itself after the 15 day period and the AC power is OFF, the OBC will continue to try for 7 days before it goes into sleep mode in order to protect the pack from further discharge.
The OBC will not start a new charging cycle by just cycling the AC plug. |
