Default 2001 CC Regen Cart

Im a bit confused I think..... I know my cart should be a Regen I, but is it still going to be that if Im replacing the Motor AND Controller so something different, or does more regulate and define the Regen?

Vernon, its always going to be a reagan cart unless you take out the reagan braking system.........thats all reagan means is regenartive braking......if you lift the seat and look behind the batteries you,ll notice a resistor coil that has 2 cables that go to a solenoid .............the easiest way to explain it is its kinda like a jake brake on a big rig what it does is when going down hill or hitting top speed it slows the cart so you don,t lose control.................

Am I correct then, that options for motor/controller are more limited? Or can the 'regen' be disregarded? I was eyeing the "Beast" motor and an Alltrax 600 for example, which seems now not an option.

How would you "take out" or not use if replacing the Motor and Controller anyway? What else is there (parts) that I may not be aware of (as I dont have the cart in front of me, its in NC

Thanks Shadowman

you can stall change parts and upgrade cart just make sure you tell them its a reagan cart and yes you can disable it if you want but if you have any kiddies riding it i suggest you leave it be..................................

Thanks Tom.... No Kiddies to worry about.... Let me beat this further:

1) What ALL components make/define a regen cart? (is it only motor/controller or are there more component in total?)

2) I thought it was most folks preference to NOT have regen; Im looking for the majority not minority on this one.

Since Im going to be spending the dough trying to do this right, its not a price thing, but if un-godly amounts of time is involved, I won't have that really since I will be doing this on my cart which is in NC - will be on vacation there in a few weeks...

Thanks again for you help

motor, controller and the 2nd solenoid under seat that goes to that resistor coil and that coil..........................best thing for you is to get a wiring diagram for a reagan cart and non reagan cart and compare the 2...............you should be able to find the diagrams here up in the stickies if not let us know cause someone will have them...........also the OBC is different.............if you don,t want the reagan braking and thats all it is its best to just disable it..........as for buying parts like i said just make sure you tell whoever its a reagan cart.........the way to tell the difference is the reagan cart has a rocker switch for F&R the non reagan has a lever style for the F&R........................

Thanks Tom, I think im getting the picture now; The problem I see is that there are less options for these Regen I when it comes to motors/controllers........Let me put together/find what I found to ask my next questions

Ok, after a bit more reading, Im not alone here...Let me solicit this, if its straight forward: If Im going to mod this thing to a 'Series' cart, whate are the list of components I need to swap out?? I already plan on 4gwg wires, new 8V batteries and obvious Motor/Controller (Series); Beyond this, Im not sure

i beleive the OBC is different, and the F&R setup is different but i,m not sure if you have to swap the F&R other than that you get rid of one of solenoids ( they are both the same so save it for a spare ) and you get rid of the resistor coil........i think thats all.....................................
