18 Onward, random 3 beeps while riding

Just picked up a used 18 Onward, it had bad batteries so I put in a new set of Trojans. When I plug it in it does the normal 3 beep and flashing light.

2 times now I have heard that same beeping when I was driving the cart. I have not been able to see if the light flashes too but I don't think it did (it was dark and I didn't see it but wasn't looking). It was only once per driving session, I have only been able to drive it a cpl times since getting it. The first time I don't remember if I was moving or at a stop it just caught me off guard and I wasn't sure if I actually heard it (had radio on low). Last night tho I was sitting stopped and about to start moving again and heard it. The cart rode and drove normal up to 21 mph.

Any ideas....im new to these carts.

Is it the reverse buzzer beeping like when it starts a charge cycle?

The reverse buzzer beeps for the roll-away warning if the cart starts rolling on it's own.
I seem to remember there being a certain fault that would set on the Precedents if the cart is already rolling and the signal from the MCOR is interrupted. This would also trigger the roll-away warning, but usually would also trigger the roll-away braking to go full on and try to chuck you through the windshield to stop the cart.

That’s what it reminds me of but both times it really took me by surprise so I’m not 100% sure. I’ll be ready next time I hear the first beep tho.

Hmm ok that could be it maybe. Does it do that as soon as it start to roll away? Last night I was sitting at a stop waiting for a car to pass. My foot was not on the brake and was on the gas but not giving it any and it may have rolled forward a tad.

Yeah, let the park brake off and push the cart by hand and it will beep the reverse buzzer. If you’re on a hill and the cart rolls without you touching the go pedal it’s assuming the cart is trying to roll away so it will energize the motor to prevent it rolling off and will beep as a warning. It will almost hold itself still on some pretty darn steep hills.

I bet that was it then, I’ll test it out. In way down south Louisiana we don’t have any hills....except for when you come out of the potholes so it won’t happen often lol. Thanks!
