Thinking of buying an 01 Carryall I 48V with Curtis Cab
Hello everyone,
I am new to this cart thing (like I need another hobby). I found what I think is a good deal on an 01 Carryall 48V with a Curtis Cab. I want to build an off road cart to chase feral pigs, general deer hunting, and maintenance on a lease in West Texas. I like the idea of the cab so I don't freeze my butt off going to the blind which is about 3 miles of fair dirt road. I plan on a lift and off road tires the particulars of which are yet to be determined. My questions are as follows: 1. What is a fair price for an 01 Carryall 48V with a cab, in what appears to be excellent to good shape but bad batteries. 2. Are the batteries truly bad? The charger shuts off after charging for about an minute so I assume the batteries are bad. I looked at them, they are Titans but the sides appear to be bulging and there is some corrosion on the wires. Lights come on but I get a click when I step on the accelerator. Owner says he drove it a month or so ago. 3. Are there any gottchas to the Carryall I? Can I lift it easily with readily available parts? Do most parts for the DS fit the Carryall I etc. Should I jump on this one or look for a DS? |

if it is in really good shape i would say 1000-1500. The kicker is you are going to spend 600 or more on good batteries. The fact that it doesnt run right now would make me uneasy, and want to pay less than a 1000.
All DS parts are the same just about.. spindles electrical etc... the carryal I is mostly a body change. |

Re: Thinking of buying an 01 Carryall I 48V with Curtis Cab
I picked up the cart to check it out before buying.
The lead wire on positive side was corroded off, that is why it would not run. I fixed the wire and the cart moves now. I am charging the batteries now and they seem to be charging so we will see, I know they are marginal but maybe I can get a few runs out of them. Once I get charge on the batteries, I will take it for a drive and shake it out. I think I am going to offer they guy $750 bucks for it. |
