A wealth of info as usual Oxfordlawn...Thx.....

I may just take the white one into the dealer and get 3 programmed in, and sell the two beige ones....should be around $100 (from what I've read)....

Lets throw this up against the wall....what if I swapped the OBC from the other cart.....would it workin the new one?.....i.e. OBC from beige one (with C programmed in), and install it on the white one.....

Here's something you will really want to think about....resale..
It cost me $150 for code 4 install from dealer, takes a week to order kit(they need serial number off cart and off controller.)

Do you think the resale value and number of potential customers of your carts will go up by at least $150 with the high speed code installed. Probably.
Depends on your area and what carts are used for.

So add that to your thoughts and confusion

For your own cart....consider skipping the whole speed code thing, go to code 3 which is free, work that into the deal with Club Car. Look up and call PlumQuick, spend $300 for a motor that will get you 22 MPH and quite a bit more torque over stock. Im happy with them.

oh the confusion of it all
There is no clear cut right answer...but I think thats the way I would go...
I hope others post their thoughts as well

I thought we were supposed to be discussing things to clear things up, not muddy the waters...

I'm leaning towards keeping the white one......and spend some time "thinking through" the options with that one.....Been eyeing the PQ option though.....also upgrading to #4 cables...

Before you do any work elctronically or electricically with these things, controllers, motors, batteries....heres the disconnect procedure...momorize it.

1--run/tow switch to TOW
2--remove negative off battery on passenger side, front battery
3--remove positive off battery ondrivers side, forward battery

When done with work...reverse the order, and dont get scared if it doesn't move the first time you step on throttle pedal. Sometimes you have to push pedal a couple times, then things wake up, don't know why.

Oxfordlawn,

Are you speaking about my wife?!?!?!? LOL

rcdd,

If you are thinking about a PQ motor I have a sneaky suspicion that once installed, even with your controller on Code 1 you might find it running at 22mph with stock tires. And if not you can always get it set later. It would be a great experiment and a cost saver as well. (Remember that the PQ motor tricks the speed sensor so why not see if it does it even when it's at Code 1 and save an hour labor at the CC dealer!)

Funny, in a way I've got you to thank for all these headaches...*L*......I sent the wife (btw she's not for sale) a link to your TK411 site.......sold her on the precedent.....*L*.....next thing u know theres 3 in garage......

Between u and Oxfordlawn, I think u've steered me in that direction.....a motor swap...cable upgrade...and see how she runs......both are not pointless, and may require further toys to enhance.....*mad scientist laugh*.....

****, this is awful....I thought my fishing habit was bad.....*L*

Here is a link to a thread I started when I did my PQ motor. Just forget about doing the Code 3 or Code 4 and the wires for the present time and see what happens with your Code 1 with motor only. You might start a whole new trend with Precedents!!!

$300 to $400 and get 26 MPH

By the way... I just hit 27.8 WOT today without a wire or controller upgrade... yet! Will do that once the warranty is over.

K....I'll read through it tonight.....Gotta take the kid to softball tonight, in the new chariot....*L*........she's almost as excited as I am.....

K.....I'll have 18's as opposed to your 22's.........less speed, more torque?......good assumption?.....
