Smile 48 volt chargers

Hello,
I have a 1998 club car and think i need a new charger. When i plug the charger up it does absolutely nothing. the batteries read between 7.95 and 8.12. i took the charger to a used golf car dealer and plugged in into a nother 48v car and did nothing. What is the least expensive/best charger?

It doesn't matter if your buying a charger, or a wife......the words "least expensive, and best" don't usually go in the same sentence.....

Actually..... Since you have a late model club car only a club car powerdrive charger will work with your cart and it's onboard computer Used, about $250 on a good day

Your charger probably needs a relay. Very cheap... New charger, not so cheap...

Go to the Used dealer, and ask him to rent, sell loan you the Manual.
The CC Maint/Serv manuals have a section in the back for trouble shooting the Charger !
Manual 50-75 $$
