Default Where to mount voltage reducer?

Had inadvertently posted this in the wrong forum.

Have an '02 CC DS, and am wiring in a 25 amp voltage reducer. It's got heat sink fins on the back, and comes with aluminum spacers, which makes me believe it doesn't need full service mounting to bleed heat.

Anyone care to share where they've mounted theirs ? Can I mount it length wise (using 2 holes only on one side of the unit) across the frame in the front wheel area ?

You want this thing away from moisture. I mounted mine up under the body behind the seat .... these pics have the body off.

Thanks Scotty. I just got my rear seat installed, so I'll try and avoid pulling off the body. Will let folks know how I make out.

Was thinking to keep in the front, since it's central to headlights, 12V accessory adapter, dome light connections, etc.

I take it the glove box would be a bad idea (with a carbon fiber dash) ?

That is th econtroller..... ideally they would have BOTH been mounted on the upper rails... but that project just kept growing

Grabbed some aluminum stock and mounted my reducer right under the access hatch behind the seat, just as Scottyb had. The reducer is off the relay, so everything is key-activated, and so far is working well.

Used 10ga wire from the negative post on battery #1 to reducer, connected postivie post from battery #6 to relay input, and output went to reducer. Mounted the fuse block and negative 12V bus bar on the rail, but not happy with the location. May have to move it soon.

Next step, wired dome light.
