You will need a voltmeter and start checking if you are getting any voltage on the small wires at the solenoid when stepping on throttle...lets start with that..if theres no voltage signal(48V), theres no snappy snappy of the solenoid. post your results and then help will follow

A little history goes a long way.
Post as much as you can , like

Did the Solinoid work before replacing , New Motor, New Controller
After replacing New Motor, New Controller.
Did it start all at once or over a period (what were symptoms).

Otherwise it will take many ? and answers to drag this out !

What type of solenoid is it (stock or a heavy duty)? With the setup that you have you may be burning up the solenoid, and if you changed the solenoid after possibly burning up the first one did you replace the diode and the pre-charge resistor?
