Help with my dads cart
My dad bought a 2005 Club Car last year and is having electrical issues. It currently has no power when he presses the pedal. Head lights work but the back up alarm does not. I was attempting to diagnose it over the phone with no success since I own an ez-go and know nothing about Club Cars. I know the first questions are going to be which CC is it. I have no idea. Dad is going to register tomorrow and will be able to give specific info. Until then he says when he plugs in his charger it goes straight to zero indicating it is fully charged. He has cleaned and tightened all of his battery terminals and we are now stuck on where to check next. I assume the 05 CC has a Solenoid and he does not hear it click when he presses the gas. Any ideas on where to check from here. I was hoping when he registers tomorrow he would atleast have some ideas of where to check next. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Re: Help with my dads cart
Hey Rock...
The first part of the serial number will tell us what kind of cart it is! eg: AQ0524-xxxxxxx AQ = DS IQ 48V 05 = 2005 24 = week of manufacture The first thing I would check is... Is the "Tow/Run" switch under the seat on "RUN"? |

Alright, I talked to dad this morning. The first part of his serial # is PQ0549.
I dont know if any Mod can help but he is having trouble posting his "introduction" this morning. It may be user error but as I am an hour away from him I cant tell for sure. |

Re: Help with my dads cart
Alright, he has tested the batteries and says all is good there. By the way, he's got (4) 12v, 2008 batts that came with the cart. How does he test the solenoid?

He has a 2005 Precedent 48 volt IQ. There is a fuse under the plastic cover in the center of his batteries that covers his controller, etc. and is held down with just one bolt close to the Tow/Run switch. That's also where the solenoid is. His fuse is where the 2 blue wires are going into a black plastic cap. Under that cap is what I believe is a 10 amp fuse. I’d check that first. |

Re: Help with my dads cart
I found the cap, but mine has 2 red wires going into it and it has a 15 amp fuse which was blown. I put a new 15 amp fuse in and it blew that one I have a short somewhere. Do you have any suggestions where to start.
Thanks so much for your help, dad |

Re: Help with my dads cart
Alright, sounds like we are getting some where I would start tracing those wires back to the batteries to check for any bare spots on the cables that could be causing any shorts.

Did you install anything new? Did you move any wiring behind the dash? |
